Production and release
The batch is produced or allocated and released against its specification. The Certificate of Analysis states the live-cell count at release.
Shipment in 10 kg aluminium bags
3 to 5 weeks after confirmation the cultures leave, shipped so they stay within the storage conditions on the data sheet.
Planning your quantity
How far do 50 kg go?
Take a strain declared at 200 billion CFU/g. 50 mg of that powder carries 10 billion CFU. 50 kg is 50 million milligrams, so one minimum order holds one million portions of 10 billion CFU at production.
Your finished product will make fewer, because the count on the label has to hold until the end of shelf life. Live cells decline over time, so every formula carries an overage, an extra amount added at production. How much depends on the strain, the format, the moisture of the blend, the packaging and the shelf life you print.

What is the minimum order for bulk probiotic cultures?

How are the cultures packed?
In 10 kg aluminium bags. Aluminium is a barrier to moisture, oxygen and light. Storage and transport conditions for each strain are stated on its technical data sheet.
What is the lead time?
3 to 5 weeks from order confirmation, depending on the strain and the quantity. The exact date is on your quotation and confirmed with the order.
Can we get samples and data sheets first?
Yes. Technical data sheets and samples are available on request before any commitment.
Can you blend several strains for us?
Yes: custom multi-strain blends and ready-to-use premixes, from 50 kg per blend. Tell us the strains and the target count per gram.
Which documents come with a delivery?
The technical data sheet for each strain and a Certificate of Analysis for each batch with the live-cell count at release. Further documents for your supplier qualification are available on request.
Can every strain be used in food supplements in the EU?
Not automatically. Many lactic acid bacteria, bifidobacteria and several Bacillus species hold QPS status (Qualified Presumption of Safety) from EFSA, the European Food Safety Authority; others need a case-by-case assessment. We check each strain against the rules of your target market before release.
What are the payment and delivery terms?
